Week 4 ( Feb 6th - 10th)
We start with the first Team Progress Reports (TPR's) next week.
This is when the teams present us their science objectives, team identity and other things (more details in Week 3 Leadership Videos).

We don’t have any videos for Week 4.

TPR #1    Tuesday,  Feb 7th - Grand Forks

Week 3 (Jan 30th - Feb 3rd)

The focus for week 3 will be selecting science objectives, creating team identity, and preparing for team progress report #1.

The first week where the videos start separating out for the teams.   Each group (leadership, design, and outreach) will have their own videos to watch.

Next week is TPR (Team Progress Report) #1.
This will be completely virtual (Google Meet, Zoom).
TPR #1’s start TBA

3)  Outreach Reporting (~ 10 mins): This video covers the deliverables that the outreach will have this semester and how to track online analytics.

Week 2 (Jan 23-27)
Week 2 is the only week where we have a video for the teams to watch and we’ll be seeing them in-person. (They visit us actually Feb 1st)

This week the teams should focus on reviewing the first part of the book (Request for Payload),to understand the project structure and components.

Student Video’s For Week 2:

1) RFP Video (~ 29 mins): This video is for all members of the team. We talk about the Request for Payload (in the book). This video also talks about all the rules, due dates, deliverables for this semester. I HIGHLY recommend the students to watch this.

Week 1 Jan 17-20
All our videos will be available online on our website www.inspiress.org.

The student videos are available under the student’s tab and under videos. There should be a link to the google drive with folder’s for each week.

NOTE - Please download the videos to the computer before you watch them. The files can be large sometimes. Also, each video will have its own powerpoint to go with it.

This year's mission, the ARISE (Autonomous Research Investigating the Surface of Europa) Mission, will be to Europa. The three vehicles will be located on the equator on the non-Jupiter facing side, the south pole, and in a 100 km orbit. The students can go ahead and start doing their own research and thinking of science objectives that might interest them. We will cover science objectives more in depth over the next couple of weeks.

1) Week_1_Project_Introduction (~50 mins): This video has 2 parts - the first part should be a comical relief for everyone (this should be the first 10 mins of the video! Sorry in advance!). The second part is more informative where we talk about the project and what to expect this semester.

Week 15 (April 25-29)
We’re in the last few weeks of the program! We have Final Review practice this week and next! (GFC we had ours on in Week 14).  The teams are getting ready for their virtual final review on Friday, May 6th!  You should have seen a previous email from me with the final review logistics video and the divisions for this semester. Please make sure you see the times that each team will be presenting. Again, all times in the final review schedule (attached) are in Central Time.

Also, we’ve decided to change the Final Review Presentation DUE date to Tuesday, May 3rd at 11:59 pm (Central Time)

Week 12 (April 4th- April 8th)
We are getting ready for the upcoming Payload Concept Review (PCR) in Week 13, this is with our UAH senior design students just like the previous PSR. However, this one is the same format as Final Review (25 mins to present, 10 mins for Q&A). This is not for points but a great practice for the teams

We have some videos for this next week, this is also the last few things for the teams to add to their presentations!

VIDEOS (All Groups):

1) PCR Prep (~ 14 mins): This video talks about the upcoming PCR (in week 13) and how the teams should get ready for it.

2) PCR Criteria (~ 5 mins): This video talks about the final review scoresheet and details about it, the PCR will use the exact same criteria and scoresheet as final review.

3) Lessons Learned (~ 5 mins): This video is about what the teams have learned all semester, this video should help the teams reflect back on what they’ve learned all semester and what would they change if they had a chance to do all of this again! .

Week 11 (March 28-April 1st)
We’ll be in Week 11 (starting March 28th). This week will be Team Progress Report (TPR) #3, this is also the last TPR of the semester. We’re really close to wrapping up the semester. We have TPR #3 next week, we’ll have Payload Concept Review (PCR) in Week 13 and Final Review Practice (Week 15).

Thursday, March 31st - Grand Forks

Week 10 (March 21-25th)
We’ll have our last Team Progress Report (TPR) #3 of the semester the following week (Week 11) GFC Thursday, March 31st

Videos for Week 10 (Week of March 21st):

Leadership:
1) TPR #3 Video (~ 27 mins): This video goes over the slides that we will cover for TPR #3. We also go over what they need to talk for each slide

2) PCP Video (~ 17 mins): This video covers everything they need to know about the Payload Concept Proposal (PCP). This is the written document that each teams must do and is due by Friday, April 15th at 11:59pm (Central Time). I HIGHLY encourage the teams to get started on the PCP.

3) Scary Video (~ 5 mins): This video is scary as it talks about all the upcoming due dates for teams. This is an important video for the leadership to watch.

Design:
1) 1_Introduction_Video (~ 34 mins): This video is a required video. Every member of the design team needs to watch this video, regardless if they’re deploying using the orbiter, lander or the rover. This video serves as a guide for all the other videos (like a table of contents).

2) EA_Orbiter (~ 72 mins): This video is ONLY for the teams that are deploying from the orbiter. The video should guide them through each step of the engineering analysis.

3) EA_Lander_Rover (~ 45 mins): This video is ONLY for the teams that are deploying from the lander or the rover. The video should cover all phases of engineering analysis when deploying from the lander or the rover.

Outreach:
1) Open House Poster (~ 10 mins): This video talks about the requirements for a poster. Each team will submit an open house poster even if they’re not attending final review in-person. We print the posters for the team IF they submit it to us by the due date. Each team will submit their posters by Friday, April 29th at 11:59pm (Central Time).

Week 8 (March 7-11th)
Teams will start looking into what concepts they pick and then to engineering analysis.

The next interim review, Payload Concept Review (PCR) will be in Week 13.

We do have lots of videos this week:

Design:
1) Concept Selection Trade Study (~ 9 mins): This video talks about how the teams should proceed with the design alternatives and how to select the “best” concept after the teams have developed their concepts.

2) Material Selection Trade Study (~ 12 mins): This video is new this year. This video helps the teams develop and understand what materials to use on their concepts. This was also a big deal with Final Review judges. They loved seeing this slide.

Outreach:
1) Outreach Checkup (~ 12 mins): This video helps the teams catch up and analyze on how their outreach progress is and what things to do as they teams move forward.

Leadership:
The leadership doesn’t have any individual videos but I’d recommend them to watch the design and outreach videos so the teams can get extra help.

Week 7  (Feb 28 - March 4th)

Week 7 is the Payload Status Review (PSR). This is when we’ll have our UAH IPT Senior Design students as external review board. This review is part of their senior design grade.

We had TPR #2 last week and y’all should have already received feedback from us (or will be very soon).  The UAH crew will be giving them feedback and filling out a JotForm (evaluation sheet) for the teams. We’ll be sending out the forms to y’all after the meetings. This should help the teams with their design process.

PSR Schedule (Week 7):
Thursday, March 3rd - Grand Forks

Week 6 (Feb 21-23)
The next couple of weeks will just be reviews for the teams, there aren’t any new videos for the teams to watch for the next couple of weeks. We have TPR #2  Week 6 and then Payload Status Review (PSR) in Week 7, which is our first interim review with UAH senior design students.

Monday, Feb 21st - Grand Forks (Team 1 and Team 2)
Wednesday, Feb 23rd - Grand Forks (Team 3 and Team 4)

Payload Status Review Schedule (Week 7):
Thursday, March 3rd - Grand Forks

Week 5 (Feb 14-18)
Week 5 gets into more details with the payloads, the students have identified their science objectives which is essential defining the problem. They’ll be developing potential concepts for this next phase to achieve the science objectives defined previously.

Week 6 (week of Feb 21st) we have out Team Progress Report (TPR) #2 and Week 7 (week of the feb 28th) we have our first interim review called the Payload Status Review (PSR). This is with our UAH senior design students. After TPR #2 the students will refine the same presentation to get ready for the PSR (no new stuff will be added for it).

Videos for Week 5 :

Leadership:
1) TPR #2 Prep (~ 23 mins): This video gets the students ready for the next progress report. We go over each slide on what they’ll present and also what to talk about for each slide.

Design:
1) Alternatives and ConOps (~ 34 mins): This video talks about how to develop the different concepts for the next phase. It talks about splitting each team in two groups to come up with “good” ideas for concepts and discuss them.

Outreach:
1) ACE Planning and Procedures ( ~ 10 mins): This video talks about how to plan for the in-person ACE activities. It talks about the important points to talk when performing and ACE activity. Make sure to watch this video before they watch the tutorials.

2) ACE Tutorials (14 videos): The Outreach team is required to watch only the ones that interest them. They are NOT required to watch all 14 videos. However, please remember the outreach team must perform at least 4 activities (so I would suggest watching any 4 that interests them).
